Soccer Is About More Than Simply The Best Known Teams
In the world of soccer there are certain teams who are very well known and provide the basis for the betting options many people undertake Online. In Spain, La Liga is often seen as being ruled by FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, but Atletico Madrid remain one of the best teams in Europe, despite standing in the shadows of their more illustrious neighbors. The same can be said of other league’s around Europe, including perhaps the best known competition in the world, the English Premier League. Some teams in competitions may not grab the headlines, but they are definitely worth watching for the chance to get good odds and win some unexpected bets.
One of the most surprising soccer teams to emerge for the 2015-16 season are Scotland’s Aberdeen, who appear to be the team to take advantage of the ongoing issues with Glasgow based giants, Celtic. Throughout the history of Scottish soccer Aberdeen have benefited from the problems at the two major Glasgow giants, Celtic and Rangers. The fact Rangers have struggled to return to the top flight of Scottish soccer after financial issues forced them to the bottom of the professional leagues means the majority saw Celtic as runaway winners of the SPL. However, since their formation in 1903, the club from the Granite City have never been relegated and saw their main era of success under Sir Alex Ferguson in the 1980s. A second placed finish in the 2014-15 season and Celtic’s loss of form at the start of the 2015-16 campaign has seen them rocket to the top of the SPL.
A completely different situation exists in Spain where the main theory exists that La Liga will be won each year by either Barcelona or Real Madrid. Atletico Madrid have seen a major reversal of fortunes under head coach Diego Simeone, who led the team to the La Liga title in 2013-14 before following that up with a third place finish last season. Simeone also led the team to major success in Europe with a Champions League Final place and a Europa League victory. At least the same league finish can be expected 10 times La Liga winners in the coming season, which could see their Madrid rivals of Real struggle after a close season coaching change.
Often referred to as the most popular league in the world, the English Premier League has maintained its position at the top of Europe and should see increased success after a major TV deal added to its overflowing wealth. There are many questions being asked of the teams in the top flight of English soccer, such as can Arsenal finally break out of the shadow of Chelsea as the top team in London and add to their 13 top flight titles. An outside option for betting on soccer are London rivals Crystal Palace under former player Alan Pardew. Since leaving Newcastle for the Eagles, Pardew has seen attacking players like Jason Puncheon and Yannick Bolaise flourish to make them a good option for betting on football during the 2015-16 season.
