Andy Murray Going for the Gold

Andy Murray, professional tennis player, wants nothing more than to train hard and play harder. This is evident from news, and people betting on tennis would be wise to pay attention. He was even undeterred when the Paris attacks happened, opt in to go to Belgium to play in the Davis Cup final despite cautioning. Murray expressed his awareness of the prevalent issues in Europe by stating “I think everybody right now is concerned about things, but I do think the best thing that we can do is to live our normal lives, not change too much, because then the terrorists are the ones that are winning.”

Even opponents acknowledge Murray’ prowess on the courts. In his opening match at the season-ending ATP finals, he beat Spaniard opponent David Ferrer 6-4, 6-4 at the O2 Arena in London. This was partially due to David’s faulty serving abilities. Murray benefitted from Ferrer’s many double faults. Ferrer, a gracious opponent admitted that Murray played more aggressively at key moments, giving him the ultimate advantage in the match. During the second set Ferrer was able to gain some upper hand in the match, however Murray was able to win 19 of the 32 points from Ferrer’s second serve in the end.

Murray has no plans of retirement or taking time off. As Britain has not won a Davis cup title since the days of Fred Perry, in the 1930s, Murray comes as a redeeming player to the country. He plans to continue training for international tournaments despite recent engagement to long time fiancee Kim Sears. Paul Hayward, reporter for the Telegraph, goes on record as stating that the Wimbledon title means so much to the English that it isn’t a wonder Murray might felt the sting of losing to one of the world’s top tennis players, Novak Djokovic, but even slight hope is enough to inspire Brits. As of November 2015, Murray was named runner-up once more Djokovik at the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris, France.

There is no doubt that the Scot plans to work hard at winning again and this is made evident in the recent changes made to his entourage. He has currently made quite a few changes to coaching within the last several years. After recently parting ways with trainer Daniel Vallverdu, and hiring new coaching, it is clear that Murray has his professional success at heart. He has long been friends with Vallverdu since his days as a teenager in Barcelona academy. Amelie Mauresmo has also replaced Ivan Lendl, and is slated to spend many weeks with Murray on the road. Those looking to get an advantage in tennis betting would be wise to place Murray at the top of their prospects.

Press states that although this decision may seem trivial to fans, it is actually an indication of Murray’s career commitments. Trainor Jez Green has also been released from duties as part of the entourage. Mauresmo, a former professional tennis player, herself, has held many impressive titles, one of which being the winner of two Grand Slam singles titles at the Australian Open and at Wimbledon. She has also won a Silver Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics. It is yet to be seen if Murray will top Fred Perry acclaim, but no one can say that Murray is out for an early retirement or a stint on the beach.
